Private workshops

I offer bespoke willow weaving and basketry workshops across Shropshire and surrounding areas. I can arrange a venue in Ironbridge, or can travel to a venue of your choosing. Workshop sessions can be tailored to your preferences - so get in touch to find out more.

  • Individual 1:1 tuition for those who prefer extra tuition support or would like to take their basketry skills to the next level. 

  • Private workshops for groups of friends or family who would like to enjoy a shared experience together.

  • Workshops for parties and other gatherings where participants would like to have a go at something fun and creative as part of the celebrations

  • Corporate team away days for organisations looking for something relaxing, creative and different for their teams.

  • Continued professional development workshops for teachers, forest school leaders and other creative practitioners who would like to explore incorporating willow within their work.

Community talks & demonstrations

I offer talks and demonstrations to a range of community groups and other organisations who would like to learn more about the wonderful world of willow. I can tailor my presentation to the needs and preferences of your group, but they generally cover the following topics:

  • The history of basketmaking in the UK

  • Growing, harvesting and preparing willow for basktemaking

  • Tools and techniques of basketry 

  • My journey and work as a basketmaker

I have an illustrated powerpoint presentation which I can show on a projector, and usually bring along some of my basketry pieces, tools and materials for demonstration purposes. I can also incorporate an interactive element to the demonstration, where participants can take part in a simple willow activity. Please get in touch to find out more.
