About the course
Learn how to make your own rustic frame basket.
During the course, you'll be introduced to the basic tools and techniques of willow weaving. You'll learn how to make and connect a pair of wreaths to act as the basket frame, and then add ribs to weave around. I can also show you how to add decorative handles, including bindings and rope coil. This basket is perfect to take out foraging, collecting fruit and vegetables from your garden, or even go shopping with.Â
About the venue
The workshop will take place at Coalport Village Hall, which is a lovely space on the banks of the River Severn at the bottom of the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There's lots to explore in the area, including the Coalport China Museum, Maws Craft Centre and the Jackfield Tile Museum. You can also explore further afield, and go for a walk along the River Severn and take in the spectacular views and historic sites of the Ironbridge Gorge.
